Holiday season

Montessori cultural curriculum helps the child understand that “he/she is a member of the classroom community, which in turn is a mini-representation of the world we live in”.

People of different ages, skin color, ethnicity, values, beliefs etc need to coexist in the classroom just like they need to do in the world.

The holiday season is a wonderful time to incorporate more of these lessons when discussing about the different ways people celebrate this season around the world.

This work is one of my most favorite works in the cultural area in my classroom:

We may have different religions, different languages, different colored skins, but we all belong to ONE HUMAN RACE – Kofi Annan
