Children who experience nature are better learners.

Research shows that connecting to the outdoors helps reduce stress and increases attention span.

Enjoy the beautiful spring weather and step out to take a “nature walk” with your children. Observe the leaves, spring flowers, birds, butterflies etc. Soak in the sun, observe the blue sky, clouds and everything around you.

Nature Collage: Take a basket/bag with you, have your child pick up small leaves, twigs, pebbles, dried flowers etc while exploring it’s size, texture, color.

Have your child glue the things collected during the nature walk on a paper to make their own “Nature collage”.

Nature sun catcher: Cut kitchen wax paper in 2 square pieces, about 5 X 5 size. Glue the pieces collected from the nature walk onto one wax paper. Put the other wax paper on top of it and glue them together. Seal the edges with glue or tape on all sides. Tape it to the window or make a hole and string a yarn through it, and then tape it to the window.

Your very own nature sun catcher is ready.

For an extension, you can date it the day , you made the sun catcher. Let it stay on the window and have the child observe how the nature stuff in it may or may not change with the sun light and time.
